Get Connected

We have small groups and Sunday school groups for all ages, and we are always ready to start more.

The Seekers: This Class studies the Old and New Testaments with a focus on historical, cultural, and geographical context. Reference materials range from ancient to contemporary. This Class will meet at the Wesley House (The Fish House) each Sunday from 10:15-11:15. This will coincide with Youth Sunday school (Sunday Morning Small Group). This is an off campus group and the address is 1518 Maple St)+

Connections: Connections is a group seeking to grow in our connections to Christ, to our community, to our world, and to each other. We make these connections through: Studies by contemporary authors who help us discuss how to live out our faith in today’s often challenging world; Mission opportunities with Community First; Social interactions (dinners, day trips). We meet downstairs in the Lighthouse of Moore’s Chapel UMC just after the 9 am worship service (120 N Park St.)

Faith Explorers small group will also meet downstairs at Moore’s Chapel. This group typically does book studies accompanied with group discussion.

New Beginnings: This class meets in the large space under Moore’s Chapel Sanctuary. The lessons for these classes have been a lecture type class which includes book studies. The goal of this class is to continue the mission of being a caring group of Christians dedicated to sharing our time and talents, growth in faith and knowledge, and supporting our fellow class members, church and community.

Young Adults: Justin and Myranda Stepnens will guide a new young adult class with no topics off limits. This group will meet temporarily in the choir area of the worship space in the LIghtHouse at Moore’s Chapel.

Sunday Morning Small Group (youth): Our youth (5th thru 12th grades) will meet at the Wesley House at 1518 Maple St. where we’ll have a practical discussion each week about how our faith informs our lives….and of course we’ll have a blast while doing it.

Children K-4th grade will meet in a “one room” Sunday school class downstairs at Moore’s Chapel. Younger children will meet in the Nursery Area also downstairs at Moore’s Chapel.

Community First Choir meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 P.M. for rehearsal and sings for Sunday morning services.

Community First Women has established two groups that meet monthly. Lighthouse Ladies meets on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 P.M. at Moore’s Chapel in The Lighthouse. Faithful Friends meets monthly on the fourth Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in homes.

Community First Men meets monthly on the second Saturday at 9:00 A.M. for breakfast, fellowship, and an inspirational program. This group meets in The Lighthouse of Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Part of being a Community is praying for one another. if you have a prayer request, please share it with us below and we will confidentially share it with our pastoral team for them to pray and connect with you as necessary.
