Seekers study the Old and New Testaments with a focus on historical, cultural, and geographical context. Reference materials range from ancient to contemporary and the group meets from 10:10 AM until 10:50 each Sunday at the St. Andrew Chapel Campus of Community First UMC, 1106 Maple Street.
St. Andrew Class reads Biblical passages to discuss from historical, archaeological, and theological perspectives. We seek to know God better and to serve him more completely. Members’ ages vary, mostly 60s to 70s, and all ages are welcome. The group meets on Sunday mornings in Room 2 from 10:10 AM until 10:50 at the St. Andrew Chapel Campus of Community First UMC, 1106 Maple Street.
Connections focuses on connections to Christ, the community, the world, and to each other. Connections are made through contemporary authors which aid discussion about how to live out faith in today’s challenging world, mission opportunities, social interaction (dinners and day trips). Meets downstairs in the Lighthouse of Moore’s Chapel UMC just after 9 am worship.
Faith Explorers meets downstairs at Moore’s Chapel at 10 AM. The class typically does book studies accompanied with group discussion.
New Beginnings: This class meets in the large space under Moore’s Chapel Sanctuary. Lessons include lecture style and book studies. The goal of this class is to continue the mission of being a caring group of Christians dedicated to sharing our time and talents, growth in faith and knowledge, and supporting our fellow class members, church and community.
Young Adults – No topic is off limits. Young Adults meet in the worship space at the Light House at Moore’s Chapel.
Sunday Morning Youth – Grades 5 thru 12 meet at the St. Andrew Chapel Campus of Community First UMC, 1106 Maple Street, and engage in practical discussion each week about how faith informs their lives….and of course have a blast while doing it.
Children K-4th grade meet downstairs at Moore’s Chapel. Infants and toddlers meet separately in the Nursery, downstairs at Moore’s Chapel.
Community First Choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7 PM and sings for Sunday morning services.
Community First Women – Two groups meet monthly, Lighthouse Ladies on the third Sunday at 2 PM at The Lighthouse at Moore’s Chapel. Faithful Friends meet on the fourth Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in various homes.
Community First Men meet in the Light House at Moore’s Chapel on the second Saturday each month at 9 AM for breakfast and fellowship, followed by an inspirational program.
