Discipleship Opportunities at Community First United Methodist Church

Life of the Beloved – This study of Henri Nouwen’s classic book focuses on how to live a deep spiritual life in the world in which we find ourselves. Join Rev Gary Lawrence for this 6-week study, Mondays from 6:30-7:30 starting April 15th.

Wild Women of the Bible – Join us for a study of six “Wild Women of the Bible.”  During our time together, we hope to learn how six ordinary and unlikely women were chosen by God to serve Him-beginning with Abraham and Sarah’s slave, Hagar, to the Marys of the New Testament and the Woman at the Well. Through these women, we hope to better understand how we can serve God and each other. This class will meet Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 starting April 18th. Denise Steed will be the facilitator.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Being United Methodist – This 7-week study, taught by Rev Robert Brown, is a “crash course” on Methodism, covering such topics as the Social Principles, the Three General Rules, and a Wesleyan understanding of grace. This class will meet Sunday evenings from 6-7pm, starting April 14th.

The Lord’s Prayer – Prayed every Sunday in churches around the world, the Lord’s Prayer is a portrait of Jesus’ heart. This 8-week study will open the Lord’s Prayer with great freshness, teaching us how to pray to the Father in the spirit of Christ. Join Rev Wes Maston Wednesday mornings from 11:00am-12pm, starting April 17th.
